Mystery Project #2: The Company of Killers

Episode 2 in a however-the-Hell-many-part series of books I'm working on but can't really talk about yet. Here's a first glimpse of something I'm putting together with Cancertown 2 colourist, Peter Mason.

At seven chapters, The Company of Killers is the largest single project I've ever scripted. With a bit of luck, Pete should have a page or two of sequential art to show off soon. For right now, though, meet one of the book's core protagonists, Takakage Sanada.

Deals with Devils: The Case Files of Harlan Falk

This one's been primed and in the pipe for some time now, but its launch codes have finally been retrieved from the sinister agents of the underworld and a formal announcement may not be too far off. Here's an eight-page preview of The Case Files of Harlan Falk.

Blurb Incoming:
A respected hostage negotiation expert loses his mind when a bizarre kidnapping case results in a child’s unexplained death. His wild talk of murderous monsters born from the victim’s own imagination is impossible to believe, and the catastrophe sees him driven out of business in a cycle of alcoholism, denial and despair. Several years later, when a new case arises bearing all the hallmarks of the same killers, Harlan Falk emerges from obscurity a changed man: a monster negotiator. Using resources and methods beyond the scope of conventional investigators, he sets out to finally close the case that cost him his career.

The art on this four-part monstrosity comes from Scott James and Alex Johns, with letters by the apocalyptically awesome Nic Wilkinson. Published by Markosia Enterprises.

Mystery Project #1: Powers Fearful & Divine

Not a whole lot I can say about this one yet, but I thought I owed you some kind of advance warning. This is the in-progress first page of Powers Fearful & Divine, a counter-factual historical adventure with a well-mannered horror edge to it.

Five chapters, with art by Roy H Stewart, colours by Pete Mason and letters, as ever, by the dangerously wonderful Nic Wilkinson.

Look Who's Stalking...

First page of inks from Simon Wyatt for our upcoming pulp paranormal espionage thriller (yes, that's a genre), Phantom Lung & the Garden of Dead Liars. Trust me - all is not as it seems here...

When a series of inexplicable, yet somehow connected, murders are committed by people with no conceivable connection to their victims, a retired Russian spymaster appears with an incredible story. The one successful product of Russian remote viewing experimentation has finally resurfaced, and has embarked on a murderous crusade against anyone connected with the programme, his delusions painting him as an otherworldly adventurer in pursuit of a dastardly villain.

Phantom Lung and the Garden of Dead Liars is a dual-reality fantasy in five parts. A delusional, obsessive conspiracy theorist uses Cold War-era remote viewing techniques to move his consciousness from body to body at will, his victims determined by distorted half-memories and an overwhelming paranoia. Wherever Phantom Lung travels, he leaves borrowed, stolen and murdered bodies in his wake.

Phantom Lung is coming...

Don't hold your breath!
